Big laughs for LOCKER ROOM TALK at the Adirondack Film Festival this past weekend! The film took home 2nd place honors in the category of "Best Comedy Short." There was a theme to the audience's votes-- both our film and the first place winner (the delightful film, THE IMPORTANCE OF SEX EDUCATION, by writer/director L. Elizabeth Powers), found humor in the dilemma of characters who choose to stay silent in the face of awkward or embarrassing topics.
It was a treat to spend an autumn weekend in Glens Falls, NY. The town has the kind of new England charm that mixes the scenic with the academic with the artistic. Going from venue to venue at the festival was like walking through scene changes in a Thornton Wilder play.
The festival is over, but LOCKER ROOM TALK lives on. I'm happy to announce that we're releasing the film on-line. So even if you couldn't see it in New York or Chicago, you have the opportunity to see it now!
This fall, Locker Room Talk screens at the Adirondack Film Festival, which runs Oct 18-20 in Glens Falls, New York! I'm particularly excited to attend the festival because it is one of the only festivals in the country that partners with a professional theater company. That should bring an exciting mix of perspectives to the experience. As a playwright, talking to theater people always feels like talking to family. I'm looking forward to sharing the film with everyone there.
LOCKER ROOM TALK is coming to the Davis Theater in Chicago! Join me at the Middle Coast Film Festival for a screening of this hilarious short film starring Edgar Miguel Sanchez, Kevin McKillip, & Joe Foust. LOCKER ROOM TALK is one of the comedies selected for the "Funny Ha Ha" shorts block on Saturday, September 22 at 4pm. Get your tickets and enjoy our film along side some other amazing shorts from Chicago filmmakers.
